The Larringtons

Lady Larrington was a wonderful lady with twelve children. These children included Lacy, Morgan, Stacy, Macy, Mary, and Ella, as the girls, and Tyler, Brandon, Zachary, George, Max, and Oliver, as the boys. They all had their different talents and hobbies in their humble home. They were a very poor family, but they had enough money for food and water, but they never had toys other than homemade dolls and teddy bears. Ella was the most adventurous of the group. She was also very kind and thoughtful. She always helped her mom with chores and cooking, and every Summer, She would grab the freshest lemon from their lemon tree and start making lemonade to sell. When the day ended, the leftovers would be a nice drink for her to share with her family.

I know you know how most families go, chores, homework, hugs, kisses, mom cooking and cleaning, kids watching television and playing on their ipads, dad doing whatever he does and all, but this family was different. This family was better. Every day, Ella, mom, and Mary make breakfast for the group. They eat as a family at their small table, sitting on stools. Afterwords, they brush their teeth, and play a family game. Then Lady Larrington goes to work while Mr. Larrington stays home with the kids. He and the boys carve wood to make toy cars, while the ladies play with their dolls. When mother comes home for lunch of which Ella makes, they all sit at the table and eat. Then, Lady Larrington goes back to work, while Mr. Larrington reads the children their favorite story called “Two By Two” by Michelle Quinten. When their mother comes home, she makes dinner with Ella and they all eat. Then they go to bed.

One day when Mr. Larrington was grabbing the book from their bookshelf, Tyler shouted that he wanted to hear a different story for once, so their father took out a different book, and began. “Once upon a time…” But, Ella wasn’t listening. Somehow Tyler wanting something new made her think she wasn’t helping the family enough. She wanted to somehow get money to help the family. Finally, she started listening to the story. It was a true story about pirates burying a treasure chest in the city she lives in, although back then it wasn’t a city. Ella didn’t want to listen anymore. She wanted to find that treasure and bring her family gold, so she tiptoed across the carpet, but her dad caught her. “Where are you going, pumpkin?” “To get a glass of water,” Ella lied. “You know what? I’m not thirsty anymore. Go on.”

Ella didn’t know why she lied to her dad, why she didn’t want to tell anyone about her mission. Maybe her mom would be worried and her dad would want to come. Ella didn’t want that. She wanted to go alone, but she was thinking of inviting her favorite sister, Mary to come along. Finally, she got her answer. Mary would want to help the family, too, so she was going to let her come.

The next morning, when everyone else asleep, Ella woke Mary, and told her about her mission, so Mary came. They went out of the door, and walked around the city, when they got to a mountain. They walked up, because it was not a very tall, and at the top, there was a cave. Mary told Ella that the book said they hid it in a cave, so they walked in. It was dark. Ella didn’t know where in the cave Mary was, but she heard a rattle. She stepped forward and tripped on something scaly. She automatically knew it was a snake, so she grabbed it and swung it around.

When she opened her eyes again in a bed with somebody in a white coat in front of her. She was in the hospital.. The doctor told her what happened. Apparently, a man found her in a cave with a snake bite and brought her to the doctor because he was worried. She looked behind the doctor. There was mom, dad, Lacy, Morgan, Stacy, Macy, Tyler, Brandon, Zachary, George, and Max. But where was Mary? She got up, and ran outside looking at the bite mark on her arm. It was gross. When she looked up, she saw Mary dancing around a chest, a treasure chest. “You found it!” yelled Ella. “It’s hard not to when you’re working with someone as kind as you,” answered Mary. “Thanks,” said Ella back. They gave it to their family, and had a great time for the rest of their lives. On the back of the chest were the names of all the pirates who hid it. Harry Hoover, Mavy Mood, Jack Blinton, and Rosa Larrington, their great great great grandmother.
