Ella’s Halloween

Ella was shopping with her mom for a Halloween costume because the next day was Halloween. It took forever but she finally found out what she wanted to be. It was a bat. They looked around for what seemed like forever but they found it. They also bought candy, and a trick or treat basket. They walked to the store clerk and payed. When the long line ended and they finished their turn, they went to the exit door. It was locked. They were stuck. The stores weren’t open on holidays or Saturdays and the next day was going to be both. They walked around in circles thinking about what to do until Ella got an idea. She explained her idea to her mom. “There must be two keys to the store. One of them should be inside by the cash register and one should be in the store clerks house right now.” They looked aroundthe cash register for only two seconds before they found it. They used the key for their escape. They weren’t going to miss Halloween after all.

The next day, they went to the pool for a swim. Ella jumped on the diving board like ten times, and the water slide twenty. She taught her mom how todo cartwheels, handstands, anda summersault under the water. It was so fun. By then, it wasevening and she had to go trick or treating with her best friend, Amanda. Her mom wasn’t coming because she had to stay home giving out candy and besides Amanda’s mom was going to watch over the girls. The girls went to Amanda’s neighborhood with their costumes on. Amanda was the evil queen from the movie “Snow White.” When Amanda’s momsaid she had to sitdown for a moment to make a call, Amanda dragged Ella to ahuge mansion. She said it was haunted. Amanda forced her to go in with her, and like anygood friend she did it. They walked inside together. There were cobwebs and spiders. There were pumpkins and skeletins. She stopped to tie her shoe, and when she got up, Amanda was gone. She walked around calling “Amanda!’ There was no answer. She continued walking. All she saw was scary things. No sign of the evil queen anywhere. She broke off into a run. “Amanda!” She thought, maybe she went back. She walked back all theway to the door of the haunted mansion and ran up to Amanda’s mom who only just finished her phone call. Ella yelled breathlessly. ‘Amanda’s lost in a haunted house. Ella led her to the mansion. Amanda’s mom came back ten minutes later with Amanda. “Hooray” they shouted.

Ella nor Amanda ever and I mean never went in a haunted house or mansion alone again.
